Weekend Update (ok I know, it's a few days late!)

- this weekend was Mothers Day Weekend...hope everybody had a good one!
- Friday was my day to wrap up the message and some final items for the weekend...but it did not go as planned and several things were pushed to finish on Saturday
- you know when you wake up and KNOW it's going to be a crazy hectic day? That was my Saturday!
- Really great news...my sister and her husband (the Bowdens) moved up to the Northside on Saturday...awesome!!
- great to have them nearby and excited to the continued growth of our leadership as part of Oasis Church
- had to borrow a video projector and test out a wireless mic for the weekend...was able to pick those up from a local pastor...thanks Toby!
- had to run to Guitar Center and pick up some stuff for the sound on Sunday...which took way longer then it was supposed to...but God has given us some guys who take care of us at GC and was able to save about $60 off the listed price...awesome!
- Finally was able to wrap up everything that needed to be done on Saturday around 11:30pm...whew!
- didn't know what to expect Sunday...first Mom's Day and also our 3 month birthday!
- already knew our team would be stretched a little thin due to the holiday... but totally understand...you gotta do what you gotta do!
- phrase from Psychology class in college...if momma ain't happy, nobody is happy!
- was able to get everything done and set-up with hardly any glitches
- had to fight through some frustrations with worship stuff and team...really proud of Justin doing what he could
- good group, couple of first-timers...just under 100 total
- we donated all the loose cash from the offering to some single moms in our community... thanks to the generosity of you, Oasis Church NFL, we are giving nearly $900 to pay utility bills and donate food and "whatever is needed" to these moms...woohoo!
-  really pumped about this...and looking forward to giving away more in the weeks and months to come...
- what if we could get to the point where we could give away all the cash given each week to meet real needs in our area? Wow...
- started a brand new series..The Money You Could Be...
- subject first week? Debt...a lot of us are in bondage and help prisoner by the debt in our lives...need to be set free!
- Jeanine and I are having some conversations and will be making some decisions to begin our journey to freedom...not going to be easy, but I think know it will be worth it!
- afterwards, had to really work hard to get everything torn down...not only were we missing team members but Star Trek was beginning in our main theater at 12:45pm!
- People started coming in at 12:10! But I heard the movie is good...is that true?
- Ran home, finished some details, and packed up the car and was on the road by 2pm... headed to North Georgia to surprise Jeanine's mom for Mothers Day...
- by the look on her face at about 8:30pm, I'd say we got her! Definitely surprised...
- car was making a weird smell that we noticed around Macon...nasty rotten egg smell in engine compartment...but no dashboard lights came on so we kept driving and made it to Grandma's house...engine still smelled funny when we arrived...
-next day, got up to head to a one day church conference...car doesn't start
- the battery (it turns out) was hot to the touch, stinky, and swollen...by grace of God, we didn't break down while traveling from Fla to Ga and were able to replace battery at Walmart...wow!
- do you think the car knew we were talking about selling her to reduce our debt load and this is how she got back at us?? Makes you wonder...
