Each week, about 20- 25% of our attendance is part of Oasis Kidz, our ministry to nursery age children through 5th graders...that is a big percentage! Our team (led by Jonathan Higdon) is growing and doing a great job providing a great hour for our kids...one of our goals is for church to be one of the best hours of our kids week!
Just so you know, Oasis Kidz is NOT babysitting... even though it does provide less distractions for our teens and adults and parents, the main goal is age-appropriate MINISTRY for our kids...that means teaching about Jesus and the Bible so that they understand, learn, and apply...even at a young age!
But, the ultimate responsibility for our kids learning about loving Jesus and following Him DOES NOT fall on the church... we as parents will be held accountable for teaching our kids. It is our goal as Oasis Church to partner with you (parents) and support and teach and together point our kids to Jesus.
One way we are doing this in the beginning is posting to our website each week what the lesson was at church. This way, we can see together what our kids are learning and seek to follow up on the lesson and memory verse throughout the week...
It is my prayer that our kids (yours and mine) will follow, trust, accept, and obey Jesus and will help others do the same as they grow in their faith and understanding...kids are not the church of tomorrow...they are part of the church of today!!
